Forward Deployed Engineer, AI and Data Integrations

Build and deploy production AI agents, integrations, and data pipelines for Redpanda’s enterprise customers. Work alongside customer engineering teams, then train them to operate the delivered systems.

Description

  • Develop production-ready agents, integrations, and data pipelines using Redpanda ADP within customer environments and codebases.
  • Get up to speed quickly on unfamiliar code, data environments, and technical constraints.
  • Lead technical work from initial design through production deployment and a clear handoff.
  • Work closely with customer engineers to ensure integrations fit their existing systems.
  • Document implementations and train customer teams to reduce their need for ongoing support.
  • Spot patterns across customer engagements and share product opportunities with Product and Engineering.
  • Travel 30–50% during active engagements and work on-site while builds are live.
  • Report to the Director of Customer Engineering.

Requirements

  • Bring 6–10+ years of professional experience spanning software engineering and customer-facing technical work.
  • Have experience writing production software, such as backend systems, data pipelines, APIs, or agent systems.
  • Have built agents, worked with LLM APIs, or integrated complex systems.
  • Be able to work in unfamiliar codebases, data environments, and technical stacks.
  • Be prepared to partner directly with customer engineering teams as a trusted technical contributor.
  • Have shipped software at a customer site or in a deployment setting.
  • Be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
  • Have worked at a pre-IPO B2B SaaS company within the past five years.
  • Preferred: experience in forward-deployed or customer-embedded engineering.
  • Preferred: experience with streaming or real-time data systems such as Kafka, Flink, or Redpanda.
  • Preferred: experience in regulated industries or air-gapped environments.
  • Preferred: experience serving as the first or sole technical contributor on a customer engagement.
