Financial Analyst, Oncology Clinical Trials — Hybrid Ohio

Manage revenue, billing, budgets, forecasting, and compliance for oncology clinical trials at The Ohio State University. Partner with sponsors, investigators, and clinical research teams to support accurate financial operations.

Description

  • Analyze accounting and financial activity for oncology clinical trials, with emphasis on revenue and billing
  • Manage revenue recognition, forecasting, project costing, contract-term negotiations, reconciliations, invoicing, coverage analysis, patient claim reviews, and reimbursements
  • Respond to internal audit requests and support the Clinical Trials Office, principal investigators, and business units across the Medical Center and College of Medicine
  • Calculate research costs for protocol-specific clinical trial activities using Medicare Coverage Analysis
  • Develop internal clinical trial budgets within assigned DSRGs
  • Collaborate with industry sponsors to establish contracted prices for clinical trial services
  • Support contract reviews and negotiations with the Office of Sponsored Programs and CRFC Contract Analysts
  • Coordinate with clinical teams and establish budget forms to promote billing compliance
  • Oversee daily financial management for the assigned project portfolio
  • Create and approve order requests as assigned
  • Reconcile recognized revenue and costs for assigned projects
  • Review cancer patient bills to separate standard-of-care services from research procedures
  • Use OnCore to confirm protocol activity completion, record and recognize revenue, and monitor actual study costs
  • Coordinate with support staff to ensure sponsors receive accurate, timely invoices
  • Review budget-to-actual results monthly, quarterly, and annually to support revenue calculations and forecasting

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least two years of relevant experience required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel required
  • Knowledge of a general ledger system preferred
  • Successful completion of a background check required
  • A pre-employment physical examination, including a drug screen, may be required
  • Ability to work 40 scheduled hours per week on first shift
