Financial Accountant – IFRS and Group Reporting

Lead IFRS reporting, statutory accounts, tax and treasury activities for Focusrite’s international music technology group. Manage audits, technical accounting and financial controls across thirteen audio brands.

Description

  • Support Group Finance activities covering statutory reporting, IFRS technical accounting, tax and treasury matters
  • Own the Group’s annual and half-year reporting cycles and lead associated projects
  • Prepare consolidated IFRS statutory accounts and related disclosures
  • Deliver accurate financial statements and annual reports with complete, timely disclosures
  • Serve as the main contact for external auditors and coordinate annual and interim audits
  • Resolve auditor questions clearly and effectively
  • Draft IFRS-based technical accounting papers for the Audit Committee
  • Develop Group accounting policies and keep the Group Finance Manual current
  • Provide technical IFRS guidance to operating entities across the Group
  • Oversee the Group internal control programme and declaration process
  • Prepare and file financial statements for all UK entities on schedule
  • Manage share-based payment accounting, including group budgets and revised forecasts
  • Support current and deferred tax accounting across the Group
  • Prepare tax information packs for external advisers
  • Assist with corporation tax calculations for Group companies
  • Help maintain and implement the Group transfer pricing policy
  • Keep required hedge documentation up to date
  • Evaluate foreign exchange effects on Group reporting and recommend risk-management measures
  • Work with senior finance leaders, regional finance teams, tax and treasury colleagues, and external advisers
  • Explain complex accounting issues to executive leaders and non-finance stakeholders

Requirements

  • ACA qualification with prior audit experience
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS technical accounting
  • Background in a multinational or publicly listed business
  • Experience consolidating multi-currency groups
  • Excellent analytical and IT capabilities, especially in Excel
  • NetSuite and Microsoft BI experience is an advantage
  • Clear communicator with a strong record of building effective relationships
  • Able to communicate confidently with Board members and non-finance colleagues
  • Highly self-motivated and proactive
  • Able to meet tight deadlines in a changing, flexible environment
