Facilities Service Engineer - Milton Keynes (Onsite)

GXO Logistics is seeking a Facilities Service Engineer to maintain mechanical systems, cages, and racking across Waitrose sites in Milton Keynes. The role supports safe, reliable warehouse operations through planned and reactive maintenance.

Description

  • Complete scheduled mechanical preventative maintenance on cages and racking
  • Handle reactive repairs, planned preventive maintenance, and racking inspections
  • Use the computerised maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Help keep warehouse operations running smoothly
  • Maintain mechanical and equipment performance within employee-trained competency levels
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within the department and wider operation
  • Monitor plant and mechanical equipment, including through the BMS system
  • Provide mechanical maintenance support at other Waitrose campus locations as part of the Waitrose Engineering Team
  • Respond to incidents and report them to support effective communication between shifts

Requirements

  • 18th Edition wiring certification is desirable but not required; the employer will support obtaining it within the first six months
  • Background in facilities or mechanical engineering
  • An apprenticeship would be advantageous
  • Respond to and report incidents to maintain communication across shifts
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday, from 07:00 to 15:00
  • Willingness to provide mechanical maintenance cover at other Waitrose campus sites when required
