Engineering Internship in Winston-Salem, NC (Hybrid)

Support HVAC design-build work for industrial, life sciences, and mission-critical projects while developing skills in system modeling, load calculations, estimating, and field operations.

Description

  • Explore the full range of Bahnson Mechanical Systems’ business operations
  • Collaborate with senior designers, project managers, estimators, coordination and design drafting teams, prefabrication, building automation controls, quality teams, and sales
  • Six-semester interns report to the Winston-Salem preconstruction team
  • Complete 3D system modeling, load calculations, system sizing and layouts, system integration, estimating, and submittal preparation and review
  • Four-semester interns complete a field assignment in the southeastern United States
  • Work under a field supervisor while gaining practical experience in the mechanical HVAC trade
  • Commute to field locations and travel when required
  • Work across office settings and field environments, including outdoor job sites

Requirements

  • New graduate Design Engineer opportunities are available
  • Engineering internships require completion of at least four or six semesters, depending on the program
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Experience with 3D Autodesk modeling tools such as Revit, Inventor, or AutoCAD is preferred
  • Strong online research and information-gathering skills
  • Ability to contribute effectively within a team
