Elementary Teacher - ACCEL Schools Florida Hybrid

Teach core subjects for ACCEL Schools’ tuition-free online public school serving Florida students. Lead live and asynchronous learning while monitoring progress, engaging families, and supporting required in-person activities.

Description

  • Serve as the teacher of record and lead instructor across core subjects and grade levels
  • Pursue student achievement, school culture, and state academic accountability objectives
  • Teach live web-conference lessons using research-based instructional methods
  • Build and organize courses within the Learning Management System
  • Track asynchronous learning progress and provide daily feedback and grades
  • Maintain consistent communication and engagement with every student
  • Partner with the Principal to prepare student progress reports
  • Analyze student data and adapt instruction to address learning needs
  • Differentiate instruction to support all students
  • Apply research-based methods in both synchronous and asynchronous settings
  • Build a joyful, caring, and supportive classroom community
  • Embed culturally responsive teaching practices into instruction
  • Uphold school-wide culture expectations and norms
  • Communicate routinely with families about academic and social-emotional development
  • Use 21st-century technology skills in classroom and team practices
  • Organize and participate in social events, field trips, and other non-instructional activities
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues
  • Travel annually to support required face-to-face state testing
  • Complete additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Must reside in Florida
  • Hold a current state teaching license in the appropriate content area
  • Understand state standards and Common Core Standards
  • Two years of teaching experience preferred
  • Able to work in a growth-focused coaching environment involving frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Show high proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook
  • Able to properly handle confidential information
  • Able to stand for up to 90 minutes at a time
  • Able to supervise students across all school settings
  • Able to pass federal and state criminal background checks
  • Experience in a multicultural setting preferred
