Electrical Radiation Engineer I - Onsite in Centennial

Entry-level electrical engineer supporting radiation-related work for Sierra Space satellites, spacecraft, and mission systems. Contributes to electrical design, testing, simulation, documentation, and troubleshooting for space and defense projects.

Description

  • Support the design and development of electrical components and systems
  • Assess and refine existing electrical systems to improve performance and efficiency
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align electrical designs with project requirements and standards
  • Run tests and simulations to verify electrical component and system performance
  • Record design decisions, test outcomes, and system changes
  • Assist with technical support and troubleshooting for electrical systems and components
  • Apply emerging electrical engineering knowledge to active projects
  • Contribute to team meetings, project planning, and progress reviews

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience in place of a degree
  • Typically suited to candidates with 0–2+ years of experience
  • Foundational knowledge of electrical circuits and components
  • Foundational knowledge of electrical design tools and equipment
  • Basic understanding of common electrical design activities
  • Willingness to learn through instruction and guidance from experienced engineers
  • Internship or co-op experience in electrical engineering is preferred
  • Familiarity with Capital, AutoCAD Electrical, Altium Designer, or comparable electrical design software is preferred
  • Familiarity with SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or comparable simulation software is preferred
  • Knowledge of PCB design and layout is preferred
  • Knowledge of power electronics and/or control systems is preferred
  • Exposure to microcontrollers, embedded systems, or FPGAs is preferred
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot circuits with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers is preferred
  • Exposure to C/C++ or Python for embedded systems development is preferred
