Electrical Fleet Support Engineer, RCA Lead (Onsite)

Lead electrical root cause investigations and resolution efforts across GE Vernova power-generation assets. Improve fleet availability through technical analysis, vendor collaboration, and reliability programs.

Description

  • Own electrical root cause analysis projects from issue identification and containment through resolution
  • Investigate both critical and lower-severity electrical problems
  • Combine detailed technical analysis with efficient operational execution
  • Coordinate with Fleet Performance, NPI Engineering, Field Services, Sourcing, and Quality teams
  • Build cross-functional partnerships to resolve fleet-wide challenges
  • Identify the resources and technical expertise needed for RCA task forces
  • Track, manage, and escalate resource needs
  • Monitor and communicate RCA metrics and key performance indicators
  • Evaluate failure data in collaboration with service teams
  • Lead programs that reduce failure rates in generators, transformers, power converters, and other major components
  • Conduct technical and commercial vendor discussions alongside Sourcing
  • Oversee RCA budgets, cost-benefit evaluations, and procurement processes, including purchase order creation and approval
  • Act as the technical authority for RCA-related communications
  • Provide project updates to internal leaders and external customers throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline
  • At least four years of experience in electrical engineering or a related field
  • Background supporting electrical systems, diagnosing field problems, or working in service engineering
  • Experience in wind energy, power generation, manufacturing, or another industrial setting is preferred
  • Willingness to travel to wind farms and climb turbines
  • Authorization to work legally in the United States

  • Practical, hands-on approach to field and product problem solving
  • Strong root cause analysis and technical issue resolution capabilities
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and service functions
  • Working knowledge of electrical schematics, components, and bills of materials

  • Experience resolving defects in field and factory environments
  • Clear communication skills for technical and operational audiences
