DevOps Engineer II - Herndon, VA

Build secure CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure for Sierra Nevada Corporation. Automate deployments, support compliance, and maintain reliable systems in an onsite DevOps role.

Description

  • Build, deploy, and optimize CI/CD pipelines
  • Implement and maintain cloud infrastructure solutions
  • Automate workflows and deployment processes to improve efficiency
  • Monitor systems and troubleshoot performance issues
  • Maintain security and compliance across systems and applications
  • Partner with development teams to integrate features and improvements
  • Document processes, tools, and operational best practices
  • Apply DevOps practices that meet industry compliance and security standards
  • Track system performance and reliability
  • Support incident response to resolve issues and reduce downtime
  • Work with development and operations teams to advance continuous integration and delivery

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in DevOps or a related role
  • A higher-level relevant degree may replace the experience requirement
  • Relevant professional experience may substitute for the required education
  • Without a degree, at least 6 years of related experience is required
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD
  • Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Experience using containerization tools such as Docker
  • Experience with Azure or AWS
  • Software development experience involving scripting, test-driven development, and CI/CD development
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship is required
