Credit Risk Team Member with German – Warsaw Hybrid

Join PwC’s credit risk consulting team supporting financial-sector projects in Germany. You will develop and validate IFRS 9 and AIRB models, collaborate across PwC teams, and travel occasionally to Germany.

Description

  • Develop, document, review, and improve credit risk methodologies, including IFRS 9, AIRB, and stress testing
  • Create and enhance credit risk models covering PD, LGD, EAD, and credit scoring
  • Conduct model validation, performance assessments, and monitoring engagements
  • Handle ad hoc analytical requests and apply relevant risk metrics
  • Assess credit risk governance, policies, and procedures while providing best-practice recommendations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with both new and existing clients
  • Work closely with PwC Network colleagues, particularly teams in PwC Germany
  • Contribute to cross-border consulting engagements for Germany’s financial-services sector
  • Travel to Germany, including Frankfurt, on an occasional basis

Requirements

  • English fluency at C1 level or above, together with the ability to communicate in German
  • Completed or near-completed higher education in mathematics, econometrics, statistics, finance, or computer science
  • Demonstrated ability to apply statistical methods
  • Practical understanding of credit risk modeling, including IFRS 9 or AIRB approaches and credit risk management processes
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to use AI tools for task automation, information analysis, and content generation
  • Interest in developing subject-matter expertise and contributing actively to German FS-Risk practice teams
  • Availability for occasional business travel to Germany
  • Motivation to develop new skills
  • Proactive, solution-oriented approach to work
  • Open, proactive, and honest communication style
  • Structured, self-organized working style focused on high-quality results
  • Experience in financial services, such as banking, insurance, or consulting, is advantageous
  • Knowledge of C#, Python, SQL, R, Matlab, SAS, or data-science packages such as tidyverse, sklearn, and data.table is advantageous
