Contract Manager (Fixed-Term) – KION Group, Bussy-Saint-Georges

Manage contractual risk and commercial commitments for Dematic intralogistics projects across France, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Germany. Lead compliance, negotiations, claims, and contract governance throughout the project lifecycle.

Description

  • Assess contractual risks and create mitigation plans aligned with internal policies and procedures.
  • Work with Project Management, Controlling, and Project Procurement to protect Dematic’s contractual position from project initiation through completion.
  • Prepare governance and approval materials that support compliance and informed, timely decisions.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders to maintain alignment across every project phase.
  • Track contractual obligations and verify compliance with payment milestones, accounting requirements, guarantees, bonds, and other commercial commitments.
  • Lead or support settlement discussions and contract negotiations with customers, suppliers, and other contract partners.
  • Advance project delivery by identifying opportunities early, resolving contractual issues, and reducing exposure to risk.

Requirements

  • University degree in Business Administration, Law, Engineering, or a related field, with a solid understanding of accounting and finance principles.
  • Proven project management ability, including managing competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Relevant experience in contract or claims management, contract analysis and drafting, and/or legal advisory work, preferably on large-scale projects.
  • Fluent written and spoken English is essential.
  • Knowledge of French, Italian, Spanish, or German, depending on the hiring location.
  • Strong negotiation and communication abilities, supported by analytical thinking, creativity, and a practical, solution-focused approach.
  • Persistence, resilience, and confidence when handling difficult contractual matters and resolving disputes.
  • Proactive, self-directed working style with sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Collaborative team player who can work effectively across functions and cultures.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
