Bookkeeper

Maintain WeBuyVintage’s financial records and support transaction processing, reconciliations, payroll, and reporting. Hybrid role based in Cambridge, UK.

Description

  • Maintain and update ledgers, journals, accounts, and other financial records.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
  • Reconcile bank statements and company accounts each week.
  • Prepare and process invoices, payments, and expense reports.
  • Track cash flow and flag discrepancies.
  • Assist with payroll processing.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities.
  • Organise financial documentation and filing systems.
  • Respond to financial queries from suppliers, clients, and internal teams.
  • Report to the Head of Finance.
  • Follow company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Meet KPIs for record accuracy, timely transaction processing and reporting, reconciliations, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in bookkeeping or a similar finance role.
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Experience with Xero and Google Sheets.
  • Proficiency in Xero accounting software.
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
  • Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A problem-solving mindset.
  • AAT or a similar qualification is desirable.
  • Experience in the antiques or jewellery industry is desirable.
  • Knowledge of UK VAT regulations and payroll processes is desirable.
  • Trustworthy and able to handle confidential information.
  • Proactive and self-motivated.
  • Reliable and consistent.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK throughout employment.
  • Visa sponsorship is not currently available.
