Accounting Intern – Kansas City (Onsite)

Accounting intern supporting financial analysis and reporting at H&R Block. The role includes forecasting, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and accounting projects.

Description

  • Research and evaluate financial data for accounting initiatives and reporting
  • Support forecasting, financial reporting, and related processes
  • Investigate technical accounting and financial reporting topics
  • Help prepare financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Contribute to the timely preparation and review of financial reports
  • Examine financial data to identify trends and variances
  • Partner with Accounting and Finance teams on special projects
  • Take part in professional development, community service, networking, mentoring, and connected-culture workshops and events
  • Develop independent work skills with ongoing guidance and mentoring

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a similar discipline
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a diverse team
  • Highly motivated, organized, dependable, and attentive to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Quick to learn and willing to use new computer programs and databases
  • Able to contribute effectively in a fast-paced corporate environment
  • No prior work experience required
  • Available for the 11-week internship from May 17, 2027, through July 30, 2027
