Senior SQL Server Database Administrator, Federal Government

Administer SQL Server databases and Windows server environments supporting federal NPIRS systems at RESPEC. The role covers performance, security, backup and recovery, data integration, reporting, and virtualization.

  • Install, configure, maintain, patch, and migrate Microsoft SQL Server databases.
  • Administer and troubleshoot SQL Server environments with SSMS.
  • Monitor and tune database performance, health, and integrity.
  • Manage database security, user access, roles, and permissions.
  • Maintain backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Tune queries, indexes, stored procedures, and database objects.
  • Support database design, data modeling, integration, replication, and migration.
  • Diagnose SQL Server alerts and Agent jobs.
  • Provision, configure, maintain, patch, monitor, and troubleshoot Windows servers in development, test, and production.
  • Administer physical and virtual servers, including VMware infrastructure.
  • Coordinate server and database changes to maintain application availability and functionality.
  • Schedule and maintain full, differential, and transaction log backups.
  • Carry out recovery procedures during system outages.
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot SSIS packages for data integration and transformation.
  • Write and troubleshoot T-SQL, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Support SSRS report development, scheduling, access, and security.
  • Maintain SQL Server Agent jobs and scheduled database processes.
  • Support staging and data warehouse environments, including data validation and troubleshooting.
  • Follow established SDLC and change control processes.
  • Work with developers, technical teams, management, and vendors to resolve issues and implement changes.
  • Maintain technical, operational, configuration, maintenance, and recovery documentation.
  • Provide technical support across database, Windows Server, virtualization, and application environments.
  • Keep current working knowledge of NIST guidelines.

आवश्यकताएँ

  • Demonstrated experience administering Microsoft SQL Server databases with SSMS.
  • Experience installing, configuring, migrating, securing, and maintaining SQL Server instances and databases.
  • Experience administering Windows servers, including provisioning, patching, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in T-SQL and experience with stored procedures, database objects, and query performance tuning.
  • Experience developing or maintaining SSIS packages and supporting SSRS reporting environments.
  • Knowledge of database security, data integrity, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery practices.
  • Experience supporting separate development, test, and production environments under established SDLC processes.
  • Ability to diagnose issues across database, operating system, and application support layers.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the government security clearance and/or suitability determination required for the position.
  • Experience administering VMware virtual server environments preferred.
  • Experience supporting highly available SQL Server environments, including clustering or Always On availability groups, preferred.
  • Experience with data warehouse design, data modeling, replication, and database consolidation preferred.
  • Experience using PowerShell for administrative tasks preferred.
  • Experience supporting healthcare reporting systems or federal information technology environments preferred.
  • Familiarity with application virtualization and ITIL-based service management practices preferred.
