  • Build, test, document, and deliver new capabilities for EDB Postgres Distributed (PGD)
  • Enhance the performance, usability, and reliability of existing PGD functionality
  • Convert business requirements into clear, executable engineering tasks
  • Deliver production support for EDB customers using PGD
  • Review code and work closely with colleagues across a globally distributed team
  • Contribute hands-on to PGD architecture, implementation, testing, and documentation across new and existing capabilities

आवश्यकताएँ

  • At least five years of professional software engineering experience
  • Advanced proficiency in C programming
  • Experience with PostgreSQL internals, such as the storage engine, WAL, replication, catalog system, or extension development
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, including replication topologies, consensus, conflict resolution, eventual consistency, and failure modes
  • Experience maintaining multi-version or multi-branch codebases with active backporting workflows
  • Familiarity with build systems and continuous integration and delivery practices
  • Confidence using Git in a large, long-lived codebase with complex branching
  • Strong capabilities in debugging and performance analysis
  • Contributions to PostgreSQL or another open-source database project are beneficial
  • Experience with logical replication, logical decoding, or custom replication systems is beneficial
  • Knowledge of distributed consensus algorithms such as Raft is beneficial
  • Familiarity with the PostgreSQL extension API and hook system is beneficial
  • Experience designing high-availability architectures and failover mechanisms is beneficial
  • Experience with Python and Rust is beneficial
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is beneficial
  • Experience with Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes is beneficial
