- Own customer-facing features and products from development through delivery.
- Ship new developments within weeks of joining the team.
- Contribute to projects from initial concept and design through implementation and launch.
- Partner with stakeholders to shape effective solutions.
- Apply lean and agile development practices.
- Work collaboratively with teams across the organization.
- Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and turn their needs into practical solutions.
- Design, build, and operate Ground News backend services.
- Strengthen service observability, reliability, and performance.
- Report to the Head of Engineering.
- Contribute within the backend chapter and Core Experience pod.
आवश्यकताएँ
- Bring at least five years of TypeScript experience, including proficiency with async/await syntax.
- Have at least three years of Node.js experience.
- Have at least three years of experience with relational databases, preferably MySQL or Postgres.
- Have experience with Elasticsearch, Redis/Valkey, or a comparable caching system.
- Demonstrate a history of shipping and scaling reliable services for a successful consumer product.
- Know how to plan and execute safe releases, monitor system stability, and reduce operational risk.
- Show a strong commitment to continued learning and development as an engineer.
- Use critical thinking to make well-informed technical decisions.
- Write efficient, scalable code and identify problematic implementation patterns.
- Be legally authorized to work in Canada.
