Senior Analytics Engineer — Canada Remote
Senior Analytics Engineer building financial, go-to-market, product, and operational data models for Lightspeed Commerce’s cloud commerce platform. The role owns data pipelines, documentation, and analytics foundations used throughout the business.

- Build data models for financial reporting, go-to-market analytics, and product and operational insights
- Deliver scalable, maintainable solutions through incremental releases and feedback-driven iteration
- Convert ambiguous Finance, Revenue Operations, Marketing, and Product needs into scoped technical plans with effort estimates
- Partner across the Hub & Spoke architecture with upstream data owners, downstream Looker and LookML developers, and domain pods
- Maintain documentation covering column definitions, model contracts, and architectural decisions
- Identify root causes and implement systemic improvements
- Maintain pipeline health through proactive monitoring, incident response, and risk detection
- Manage sprint commitments and support planning, task decomposition, estimation, and prioritization
- Support junior engineers through coaching, code reviews, and technical learning sessions
- Create canonical data models that integrate fragmented CRM, ERP, and product-platform data

- Advanced SQL expertise, including query optimization, maintainable coding practices, and analytical methods such as window functions
- Experience creating enterprise dimensional models in modern cloud data warehouses, including BigQuery or Snowflake
- Knowledge of partitioning, incremental processing patterns, and performance tuning
- Practical experience modelling SaaS, CRM, or ERP systems such as Salesforce or NetSuite
- Ability to translate CRM and ERP object models into dimensional schemas
- Production experience with Dataform or dbt, including materializations, incremental strategies, snapshots, and macros
- Understanding of GDPR, SOX, and data access controls
- CI/CD, automated testing, linting, and deployment workflow experience is a plus
- Python or JavaScript experience for data-engineering tooling is a plus
- LookML or comparable semantic-layer experience is a plus
- Familiarity with data contracts for validating pipelines is a plus
- Experience with AI- or LLM-assisted development tools is a plus
- Revenue and finance domain knowledge is a plus
