- Design and calculate columns, beams, slabs, foundations, and lateral structural systems.
- Engineer structures using steel, concrete, masonry, cold-formed steel, and wood.
- Coordinate engineering drawings and contract documents with BIM technologists and the engineering team.
- Carry out site reviews and other contract administration tasks.
- Prepare project correspondence.
- Attend client meetings, help resolve design issues, and share project updates.
- Review architectural, electrical, mechanical, and structural drawings.
- Apply quality assurance tools, complete checklists, and submit them to the project engineer.
- Guide junior staff on project design and delivery to maintain standards.

- Hold an engineering degree focused on civil and structural engineering.
- Have 4–8 years of professional experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry.
- Hold professional engineering status or preferably be working toward it.
- Know the applicable building codes.
- Demonstrate project management skills and a record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Be able to use structural analysis software such as SAP2000 and RAM.
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Be able to work with project stakeholders and clients at all levels.
- Be able to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deliverables on an ongoing basis.
- Knowledge of and interest in embodied carbon are considered assets.
