- Lead the Building Division.
- Coordinate permits, land development plan reviews, and related inspections.
- Interpret, update, enforce, and administer state and county building codes.
- Maintain official records and assemble evidence for court proceedings.
- Serve as the County Building Official and Fire Code Official.
- Sign Jefferson County Certificates of Occupancy as the primary authorized signatory.
- Conduct and oversee inspections and enforce applicable codes and ordinances.
- Direct plan reviews and take part in their completion.
- Keep inspection records, calculate fees, and prepare materials for court proceedings.
- Handle administrative work, prepare reports, maintain records, and address public concerns.
- Research and assess codes, ordinances, notices, permitting matters, and new materials.
- Lead staff by assigning duties, tracking work, giving feedback, and providing training.

- Experience carrying out residential and commercial building inspections.
- Ability to perform moderately strenuous tasks, including occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
