Staff Software Engineer, AI Platforms — Walmart
Build scalable AI platforms and distributed systems for Walmart Global Tech, developing Java and Spring Boot services with cloud-native DevOps practices.
Tavsif
- Develop and maintain AI platforms for Walmart’s data science community.
- Create new platform features.
- Maintain platform reliability, scalability, performance, and stability.
- Design, develop, and operate distributed systems for mission-critical applications.
- Build scalable distributed systems with modern frameworks and cloud-native architectures.
- Develop and optimize REST APIs and microservices.
- Investigate root causes and drive ongoing improvements.
- Work with global engineering teams and partners across product, UX, and DevOps.
- Support production systems through troubleshooting, triage, and live incident resolution.
- Apply DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, observability, monitoring, and alerting.
- Manage work from development through QA and production release.
- Mentor junior team members.
- Assist customers through various forums and encourage sound practices.
Talablar
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, plus at least 9 years of experience.
- Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related field, plus 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
- Alternatively, at least 6 years of software engineering or related experience.
- Strong Spring Boot skills, including REST APIs, dependency injection, and configuration management.
- Advanced Java knowledge, including JVM internals, concurrency, and multithreading.
- Basic Python programming skills.
- Experience with Spring Data JPA or Hibernate, ORM optimization, and database transaction management.
- Practical experience deploying with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
- Intermediate understanding of machine learning and generative AI.
- Exposure to Apache Spark and Ray.
- A master’s degree and 2 years of experience are preferred.
- Able to work daily from the Bangalore or Chennai office.
