- Set technical direction for Reddit’s Android platform.
- Lead cross-team work across a large, multi-team Android codebase.
- Guide platform decisions to support the next 100 million-plus daily active users.
- Shape developer experience strategy to speed up builds and tests and make releases safer.
- Design the foundations for Android client health and observability, including events, traces, and dashboards.
- Promote AI-assisted tools and workflows for developers and agents.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to senior engineers.
- Strengthen engineering standards through architecture reviews, documentation, and technical guidance.
- Turn unclear platform challenges into multi-quarter roadmaps.
- Align engineering partners and contribute hands-on from design and implementation through rollout and adoption.
Talablar
- At least five years of software development experience, including three or more years building Android applications.
- A record of leading complex Android initiatives from defining the problem through delivery and sustained adoption.
- Experience setting technical direction and delivering shared platform capabilities in a large Android codebase used by multiple teams and millions of daily active users.
- Deep expertise in Kotlin, Android lifecycle and concurrency, Jetpack Compose, and Kotlin coroutines.
- Experience with Android platform or infrastructure work, such as shared libraries or frameworks, experiments and logging, navigation, startup and session orchestration, or core networking and caching.
- Strong systems thinking and practical problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated measurable gains in app reliability, performance, or developer productivity.
- Ability to influence without formal authority and build agreement across engineering, product, design, and data teams.
- Ability to explain technical strategy and trade-offs clearly.
- Practical use of AI in engineering workflows, such as code generation, refactoring, static analysis, or CI checks, with measurable benefits.
