Senior Hybrid Cloud and Kubernetes Engineer
Operate AWS, on-premises, and classified infrastructure for Peraton, supporting mission-critical platforms, tenants, and secure cloud environments. Peraton provides national security and enterprise IT services.
Tavsif
- Design and sustain AWS and on-premises infrastructure for platform services and mission-critical workloads.
- Deploy and operate Kubernetes and container platforms, including EKS or comparable technologies.
- Engineer compute, storage, load balancing, DNS, ingress, egress, and related platform services.
- Assess workload placement against mission, security, performance, connectivity, and operational needs.
- Build and maintain scalable, repeatable infrastructure patterns across varied deployment environments.
- Connect cloud environments with on-premises and restricted-network infrastructure.
- Support backup, recovery, resilience, capacity, patching, and platform lifecycle work.
- Resolve complex issues spanning cloud, Kubernetes, storage, networking, operating systems, and application-platform dependencies.
- Maintain reliability, scalability, and operational performance for production infrastructure across hybrid environments.
- Support standardized tenant infrastructure and reusable environment patterns.
- Work with Infrastructure-as-Code engineers on controlled, repeatable automation.
- Support identity, CI/CD, observability, repositories, and mission-hosting dependencies.
- Take part in Tier 3/4 troubleshooting and escalations.
- Carry out scheduled maintenance, infrastructure upgrades, and platform lifecycle work.
- Provide on-call support for production infrastructure and platform services.
Talablar
- Active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph.
- At least 8 years of experience with a BS/BA, 10 years with an AS/AA, or 12 years may be considered in place of a degree.
- At least 8 years of cloud, infrastructure, platform, or systems engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on AWS experience.
- Strong Kubernetes and container-platform experience.
- Experience with Linux, networking, storage, load balancing, and production infrastructure.
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure and application-platform dependencies.
- Ability to work effectively across technical disciplines and environments.
- Experience with AWS GovCloud, C2S, SC2S, Secret or Top Secret cloud, or comparable classified cloud environments is beneficial.
- Experience with EKS, OpenShift, or comparable Kubernetes platforms is beneficial.
- Experience with Istio or comparable service mesh technology is beneficial.
- Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or other Infrastructure-as-Code technologies is beneficial.
- Experience in disconnected or restricted-network environments is beneficial.
- Experience with large-scale, multi-tenant Kubernetes platforms is beneficial.
- AWS cost and capacity optimization experience is beneficial.
- Experience supporting standardized infrastructure patterns across multiple deployment environments is beneficial.
