MediaNews Group is hiring a remote Staff Accountant to support financial reporting, variance analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling across its business.
Tavsif
- Review revenue and expense accounts and produce variance reports
- Maintain financial reporting across business functions
- Support weekly projections and annual budget preparation
- Gather, monitor, and evaluate financial data related to revenue, expenses, and strategic priorities
- Build financial models to support business decisions
- Evaluate results, track variances, identify trends, and advise management on actions
- Assist with weekly Flash reporting and annual budgeting
- Compare actual performance with plans and forecasts to assess financial position
- Prepare trend analyses and forecasts
- Build automated reporting and forecasting tools
- Develop and maintain working relationships across divisions
- Use Oracle SmartView and Oracle Cloud EPM for financial reporting
- Prepare forecasts and financial models
Talablar
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or economics
- At least two years of directly relevant experience
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, including financial model building
- Ability to streamline business functions
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, IF, IFS, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, and dynamic cell linking
- Strong experience with financial modeling
- Thorough knowledge of financial processes, systems, and controls
- Experience documenting processes
- Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple projects with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Residence in Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, or Texas
- Willingness to complete and pass a full pre-employment background check
- Ability to travel 10–25% to Denver
