Maintenance Technician – Iowa Rental Properties

Maintain, repair, and renovate AXIS rental properties across Iowa communities. Handle trade work, inspections, work orders, and emergency requests.

Tavsif

  • Complete scheduled maintenance and repairs while delivering professional service.
  • Perform painting, flooring replacement, fixture installation, minor carpentry, HVAC upkeep, electrical troubleshooting, and appliance replacement.
  • Record completed work in AppFolio work orders and keep them updated.
  • Submit receipts promptly.
  • Record working hours accurately on work orders.
  • Report issues, parts needs, and follow-up tasks to Coordinators and the Office.
  • Inspect properties routinely and recommend preventive maintenance and equipment improvements.
  • Follow safe work practices to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Respond quickly to emergency maintenance calls, including those outside regular hours.
  • Provide maintenance support in Newton, Boone, Grinnell, and/or Des Moines.

Talablar

  • Bring proven renovation, repair, or maintenance experience, ideally in rental housing or a similar setting.
  • Use a range of trade skills, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and painting.
  • Solve problems effectively and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with tenants, property managers, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and follow applicable regulations and best practices.
  • Be available for occasional evening, weekend, or on-call shifts to handle urgent maintenance needs.
  • Have the physical stamina and agility for lifting heavy items, working at heights, and moving through confined spaces.
  • Be willing to travel.
