Data Engineer, EDI — Arizona Remote
Test and troubleshoot HIPAA healthcare EDI transactions for Personify Health’s personalized health platform. Help ensure accurate claims, eligibility, enrollment, and remittance data across trading partners.
Tavsif
- Validate HIPAA X12 transactions, including 837 I/P/D, 835, 834, 270/271, and 276/277, to ensure claims, eligibility, and remittance data moves accurately between systems
- Investigate transaction errors across loops, segments, elements, and qualifiers
- Work with development teams to correct mapping and programming defects
- Resolve production transaction issues involving trading partners and vendors
- Develop test plans, test cases, and Companion Guide documentation
- Lead UAT, SIT, and end-to-end testing for vendor onboarding, enhancements, and HIPAA 4010/5010 upgrades
- Create and maintain mock 837I and 837P claim test data
- Coordinate technical and non-technical teams, clients, and trading partners
- Gather requirements and drive issues through resolution
- Record incidents and enhancement requests in JIRA
- Keep project documentation current in Confluence
- Verify ICD-9, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding during claims and EDI testing
- Take part in Agile sprint planning and sprint reviews
Talablar
- At least three years of experience with healthcare EDI transactions and HIPAA 4010/5010 standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Life Sciences, or equivalent experience
- Practical experience testing and troubleshooting X12 transactions, including 837, 835, 834, 270/271, and 276/277
- Experience working directly with EDI trading partners, payers, or vendors on connectivity and transaction issues
- Experience preparing test plans, test cases, and technical or Companion Guide documentation
- Working knowledge of relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, or comparable systems
- Familiarity with EDI testing and translation tools such as Edifecs, ClarEDI, or similar platforms
- Understanding of claims, eligibility, enrollment, and remittance or adjudication processes
- Working knowledge of JIRA and Confluence
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum ceremonies and workflows
