Structural Engineer, Telecommunications Infrastructure — Seattle Onsite

Design and assess telecommunications towers, buildings, and infrastructure for PTI Services. Prepare engineering reports, verify code compliance, and support field operations.

Opis

  • Design and analyze wireless communications and telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Verify the structural integrity and code compliance of existing and new buildings, non-building structures, and structural components.
  • Contribute throughout projects, from concept and design through deployment and quality assurance.
  • Analyze and design structures and mounts for buildings, towers, monopoles, equipment, anchors, and foundations.
  • Design tower reinforcements, extensions, and foundation modifications.
  • Compare engineering options and recommend solutions that balance safety, performance, and cost.
  • Prepare engineering reports, calculations, and technical records.
  • Perform or review quality checks on structural analyses, drawings, and deliverables.
  • Assist with construction administration by reviewing shop drawings, RFIs, and technical submittals.
  • Work with project managers, drafters, senior engineers, clients, contractors, building officials, and consultants.
  • Answer technical questions about structures.
  • Work with authorities to document code compliance and obtain permits and approvals.
  • Visit sites and assess field conditions.
  • Document observations, measurements, and recommendations in field reports.
  • Find ways to improve design efficiency, standardization, and process quality.
  • Contribute to mentoring and knowledge sharing.
  • Handle other projects and duties that support business priorities and team goals.

Zahteve

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and ability to obtain licenses in multiple states as needed.
  • Three to five years of structural engineering design and analysis experience.
  • Experience preparing construction documents and conducting mount analyses and structural assessments for monopoles, towers, tanks, and buildings.
  • Strong grounding in structural design principles for steel, concrete, wood, and masonry.
  • Knowledge of the IBC, TIA-222, ASCE, and related design codes and standards.
  • Proficiency with tnxTower, RISA 3D, Mathcad, and Enercalc.
  • Sound understanding of construction practices and principles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines and quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accountability and precision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience collaborating in team environments across offices, disciplines, and clients.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Master’s degree in structural or civil engineering preferred.
  • Structural engineering license preferred.
  • Familiarity with telecom carrier standards and permitting processes.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar drafting or modeling software.
  • Experience applying international telecom standards, such as Eurocode, LATAM codes, or other regional frameworks.
  • Spanish proficiency preferred.
  • Ability to travel on short notice and manage work across multiple time zones.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varied weather, navigate uneven terrain or elevated structures, and follow safety standards and protocols.
