- Prepare records and technical documents for release through company data and documentation control systems.
- Check revisions to existing design drawings and documentation in design databases.
- Assess mechanical designs, engineering models, and drawing prints for compliance with internal and industry standards.
- Apply manufacturing, tolerancing, and producibility knowledge to support cost-effective designs.
- Review and update check prints to meet company policy.
- Work with engineers, designers, and detailers to clarify requested changes.
- Verify specifications for materials, finishes, processes, connectors, and other mechanical components.
- Apply company, industry, and contractual standards to hardware design and documentation.
- Enter information into the company documentation control system.
- Use CAD and data management tools to perform design checks.
- Support the CAD tool team with software testing and debugging when requested.
- Help develop design and documentation techniques and procedures informed by government or commercial publications.
- Validate change-definition artifacts and revision records for existing designs and documentation.
- Check design databases and documentation for new design and drawing releases.
Zahteve
- Typically requires an associate degree or other two-year post-high-school training and at least six years of relevant experience.
- U.S. citizenship is required because only U.S. citizens may access information under this program or contract.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.
- Experience in a checking role, preferably with mechanical systems.
- Experience with 3D CAD design tools, including SolidWorks and/or NX.
- Experience editing PDFs with Canvas or Adobe.
- Experience with a product data management (PDM) system, preferably Enovia.
- Experience with GD&T dimensioning.
- Knowledge of ASME specifications.
- Experience working on government or military programs.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proactive problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across departments.
