Opis

  • Own the reliability and performance of a large-scale pipeline that ingests, stores, and serves operational data.
  • Improve system performance, cost efficiency, and scalability as data volumes and usage increase.
  • Evaluate and integrate tools for monitoring, alerting, and data platforms.
  • Compare build-versus-buy options and lead practical pilot projects.
  • Develop and maintain deterministic, rules-based checks for critical alerts and data quality.
  • Contribute to incident response, on-call rotations, root-cause analysis, and production postmortems.
  • Help plan and carry out disaster recovery, including regional failover exercises and recovery validation.
  • Review workflows and data practices, identify gaps, and lead phased improvements.
  • Work with engineering leaders and stakeholders on capacity planning, investment priorities, and technical tradeoffs.
  • Promote infrastructure as code and automated deployment practices.
  • Mentor engineers and strengthen shared institutional knowledge.
  • Support a platform providing real-time and historical visibility into satellite and ground infrastructure.
  • Work without supervisory responsibilities.

Zahteve

  • Bring at least 7 years of experience in site reliability, platform or data engineering, or a closely related field, operating production systems at meaningful scale.
  • Have substantial experience with streaming or event-driven pipelines, large-scale storage, and analytical query engines.
  • Use a systems programming language such as Go or Java to build backend or data services.
  • Have hands-on production experience with metrics, logs, traces, and alerting.
  • Bring on-call experience covering incident response, root-cause analysis, and postmortem writing.
  • Be comfortable with infrastructure as code and modern CI/CD or GitOps practices.
  • Explain technical tradeoffs clearly to engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively in writing and conversation.
  • Stay organized and attentive to detail.
  • Manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Use Microsoft Office proficiently.
  • Have familiarity with NetSuite.
  • Be willing and able to travel as needed.
  • Be willing and able to work outside regularly scheduled hours as needed.
  • Be able to sit at a desk for 4 to 8 hours.
  • Be able to operate equipment related to the role.
  • Be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
