Senior DevOps Engineer, AWS and Kubernetes — Fort Meade

Opis

  • Develop and deploy AWS cloud infrastructure, particularly EKS.
  • Build and deploy edge infrastructure on on-premises and portable equipment.
  • Automate deployments to improve service reliability and scalability.
  • Manage Kubernetes containers and AWS infrastructure.
  • Work with development teams to integrate applications into infrastructure.
  • Monitor production systems, investigate issues, and resolve them.
  • Improve processes and tools to support high availability and performance.
  • Keep up with emerging technologies and industry developments.
  • Balance hands-on engineering with team guidance, mentoring, and leadership.
  • Handle other duties as assigned.

Zahteve

  • Hold and maintain an active U.S. Secret clearance and be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance.
  • Be a U.S. citizen.
  • Have 9+ years in DevOps engineering or software development with a related bachelor’s degree; or 7 years of relevant experience with a related master’s degree; or a high school diploma or equivalent and 13 years of relevant experience.
  • Bring strong knowledge of Kubernetes or another container orchestration platform.
  • Bring strong knowledge of AWS services, including EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, and Lambda.
  • Use configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible proficiently.
  • Have experience deploying, scaling, and managing applications, containers, and operating systems.
  • Be able to develop in Python, Bash, or Go.
  • Be familiar with Git, Flux, and other development and deployment tools.
  • Work comfortably in a terminal-based environment.
  • Have proficient Linux skills, including system administration and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving ability.
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Understand Agile software development methods and standard software development tool suites.
  • Have experience as a technical lead, mentor, or manager for engineering teams.
  • Hold DoD 8140/8570-compliant certifications, such as Security+.
  • Be able to help open or close the workspace during regular business hours when needed.
  • Be able to work at the customer site in Fort Meade, Maryland, 4–5 days per week.
  • An active TS/SCI clearance is strongly preferred.
  • Have experience with big-data technologies such as Hadoop, Accumulo, Ceph, Spark, NiFi, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, or Presto.
  • Experience with containers, EKS, Diode, CI/CD, and Terraform is a plus.
