Financial Analyst, Capital - WEX (Remote, United States)
Manage WEX’s multi-million-dollar capital expenditure lifecycle through financial modeling, forecasting, variance analysis, controls, and automation. Partner with technology, product, commercial, and senior leadership teams to improve capital reporting and planning.
Opis
- Manage the full capital expenditure lifecycle, including modeling, budgeting, and forecasting for a substantial annual capital portfolio.
- Build and update cost models that account for development and operational labor mixes.
- Apply blended capitalization rates to compensation data to support accurate financial reporting.
- Provide financial guidance to senior leaders and collaborate with Technology, Product, and Commercial teams.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly reviews of capital spending.
- Analyze variances between maintenance and infrastructure spending and growth-focused strategic investments.
- Connect project-tracking information, including Jira and other project-management data, with financial systems.
- Coordinate project delivery schedules with approved capital budget limits.
- Maintain capital finance policies and validate capitalized labor entries.
- Apply materiality thresholds to classify expenditures correctly as capital or operating costs.
- Find manual, low-value activities and implement automated workflows that strengthen data quality and reduce month-end close intervention.
- Contribute to company-wide reporting, process improvements, and cross-functional FP&A programs.
Zahteve
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline.
- At least five years of experience in finance or accounting.
- Advanced Excel capability, including complex financial models, advanced formulas, and pivot tables.
- Hands-on experience with ERP platforms and financial planning software.
- Ability to turn complex datasets and varied project metrics into actionable insights for senior leaders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to explain complex financial topics, including capitalization rules, to non-finance partners.
- Track record of simplifying manual processes and deploying automated solutions.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting while managing competing priorities.
- Experience with data preparation and automation platforms such as Alteryx or UIPath is a strong advantage.
