Finance Intern, India Accounting and Tax
Support Gainsight’s India finance team with accounting, tax compliance, reporting, and close activities. The internship also includes reconciliations, audit coordination, and financial analysis.
Opis
- Support accounting, tax, and finance operations for the India entity.
- Help with month-end and quarter-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Assist with statutory compliance, audit coordination, and regulatory filing documents.
- Compile data for direct and indirect tax compliance, including GST, TDS, and corporate tax filings.
- Keep financial records accurate, complete, and ready for audit.
- Work with Controllership, Tax, Legal, FP&A, and external advisors to collect information and resolve questions.
- Contribute to finance projects, process improvements, and data analysis that improve reporting efficiency.
- Report to the Senior Director.
Zahteve
- Recently earned a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- A solid grounding in accounting principles and a basic understanding of financial statements.
- Basic familiarity with Indian tax concepts such as GST, TDS, and corporate tax, gained through study or internships.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Careful attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Clear written and spoken communication.
- Able to handle several tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
- Accounting, audit, or tax internship or project experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with Indian GAAP or Ind AS is a plus.
- Experience with accounting platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Tally, or other ERP systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with GST return preparation or basic tax compliance is a plus.
- Progress toward a CA, CMA, or CPA certification is a plus.
- Interest in improving and automating finance processes is a plus.
