Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Intern
Build AI prototypes, models, and automation for Cook Medical’s medical device manufacturing business. Explore NLP, computer vision, and large language model applications with cross-functional teams.
Opis
- Support AI projects with guidance from AI and Innovation leads
- Work with AI engineers and creative professionals to find ways AI can advance business strategy and improve processes
- Lead or join rapid prototyping sessions and build practical proof-of-concept solutions
- Record project methods and share findings across the organization
- Gather, prepare, and clean data for training AI models
- Help develop and implement AI algorithms and models
- Test, assess, and validate AI solutions
- Contribute to team discussions, brainstorming, and knowledge sharing
- Expand the AI Sandbox to support experimentation across the company
- Explore and implement AI applications such as task automation, text analysis, computer vision, image recognition, object detection, and LLM-powered customer chatbots
- Take part in user experiments and pilot projects
- Build practical experience, support research and innovation, deepen AI knowledge, and contribute to responsible AI practices
Zahteve
- Demonstrated programming ability in languages such as Python
- Experience using AI frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
- Basic knowledge of machine learning algorithms, neural networks, and deep learning
- Familiarity with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and data analysis
- Able to solve problems and work independently as well as collaboratively
- Ready to learn, adapt, and take on new AI challenges
- Practical experience using LLM tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot for work, including writing clear prompts and critically assessing their outputs
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts
- Interest in pursuing a career in life sciences
- Willingness to take initiative and work effectively with others
- Enrolled as a student entering junior or senior year the following fall, or entering graduate school; spring graduates before the internship are also eligible
- A GPA of at least 3.0 is preferred
- Proof of enrollment is required, including pre-registration certification for the following fall
- Students from fields including marketing, life sciences, general business, and management will be considered
