Descriere

  • Lead the technical work of the Calgary Transportation Engineering team.
  • Direct complex transportation assignments, including outline and area structure plans.
  • Manage transportation impact assessments and other major engineering projects, covering scope, client communication, technical direction, schedule and budget.
  • Set and maintain technical standards, design guidance, workflows and quality assurance practices.
  • Prepare technical reports and review colleagues’ work constructively.
  • Oversee work using Synchro and VISTRO, and guide conceptual and functional design decisions.
  • Develop and sustain relationships with municipal, provincial, agency and private sector clients.
  • Drive local business development by finding opportunities, shaping pursuit strategy, and supporting proposals, scopes, fees and resourcing.
  • Resolve escalated client concerns and project delivery issues.
  • Turn technical findings into practical recommendations for municipal decisions and implementation.
  • Lead, mentor and coach team members.
  • Plan workloads and resources to align team capacity and utilization with project needs.
  • Contribute to recruitment, onboarding, training and career development.
  • Report on team performance, risks and opportunities, and work with colleagues on strategic initiatives and major pursuits.

Cerințe

  • Hold Professional Engineer registration with APEGA or be eligible to register in Alberta.
  • Bring at least five years of progressive transportation engineering experience, including planning, traffic operations and municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Show a track record leading people, managing projects, and overseeing technical quality and delivery.
  • Know Calgary municipal standards, policies, approval processes, stakeholder engagement and local political context.
  • Have experience building client relationships, developing persuasive proposals, identifying opportunities and winning new work.
  • Use Synchro and VISTRO proficiently, with experience in site and roadway design and conceptual or functional design.
  • Communicate clearly, exercise sound professional judgment and demonstrate commitment to mentoring and developing others.
  • Hold a valid driver’s licence and be able to travel across Calgary and nearby areas.
