Surety Underwriting Assistant (Hybrid, Seattle)
Support surety bond processing for Sompo’s insurance business. Partner with underwriters, agencies, clients, and the Surety Underwriting Center on service, reporting, and daily operations.
Descriere
- Process surety business through accurate data entry, underwriter assistance, rating-scenario review, and quality-controlled work
- Build effective working relationships with underwriters and serve as the initial contact for service inquiries
- Maintain productive relationships with agencies and clients
- Apply knowledge of filed rates, minimum premiums, rating tools, and line cards
- Manage internal reporting, including monthly renewals, status updates, data-cleanup initiatives, submissions under review, and quoted business
- Assist the Surety Underwriting Center team with account management, bond forms, collections, and coordination with other Underwriting Assistants
Cerințe
- Ideally, bring 3–5 years of experience as a Technical Assistant or Underwriting Assistant handling comparable responsibilities
- Apply sound judgment and practical problem-solving skills
- Communicate clearly and professionally in writing and conversation across email, phone, and in-person settings
- Work confidently with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Edge or Chrome, and Nitro Pro or Adobe
- Organize competing priorities while collaborating effectively with colleagues
- Maintain a consistently high level of accuracy and detail
- Plan work effectively and keep responsibilities well organized
- Show curiosity, a constructive attitude, and readiness to take on additional duties assigned by underwriters or leadership
