Senior SQL Server DBA, AWS Storage
Manage SQL Server databases and AWS storage for a technology company specializing in software, systems, and infrastructure projects. The role covers database operations, cloud migrations, high availability, and security.
Descriere
- Administer, monitor, and maintain SQL Server instances in production and non-production environments.
- Design and implement backup, disaster recovery, and high availability strategies.
- Manage and optimize AWS storage services for databases and related workloads.
- Plan and execute migrations of on-premises databases to AWS.
- Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and tune queries, indexes, and execution plans.
- Implement security policies, data encryption, and access controls.
- Automate tasks with T-SQL and PowerShell scripts and/or infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Manage storage capacity, forecast growth, and optimize AWS costs.
- Document architectures, operating procedures, and administration policies.
- Work with infrastructure, development, and security teams.
- Provide support and resolve incidents, including after-hours on-call duties when needed.
Cerințe
- At least 6 years of experience as a DBA, focused on Microsoft SQL Server.
- At least 3 years of experience with AWS storage services such as EBS, S3, EFS, FSx, or similar.
- Demonstrated experience migrating databases to the cloud is preferred.
- Experience with high availability and mission-critical environments.
- Advanced SQL Server administration skills, including installation, configuration, security, backup and restore, and performance tuning.
- Advanced T-SQL skills, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, and query optimization.
- Knowledge of AWS storage services, including EBS, S3, EFS, and FSx.
- Knowledge of RDS and EC2 is preferred.
- Understanding of cloud networking and security concepts, including VPC, IAM, KMS, and Security Groups.
- Scripting experience with PowerShell and/or Bash.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools such as SQL Server Management Studio, CloudWatch, or similar.
- AWS and/or Microsoft SQL Server certifications are preferred.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems under pressure.
- Proactive approach and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Focus on continuous improvement and optimizing costs and resources.
