Senior DevOps Engineer (Contract) — Canada Remote
Bounteous is seeking a senior DevOps engineer to lead CI/CD, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, and platform reliability across the delivery lifecycle. This contract role focuses on secure automation, operational excellence, and developer enablement in a remote Canada-based setting.
Descriere
- Own DevOps and deployment workflows across development, QA, staging, and production environments.
- Build, maintain, and refine CI/CD pipelines that support dependable, automated application delivery.
- Provision and operate cloud infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code and automation.
- Administer containerized applications and Kubernetes platforms.
- Automate recurring infrastructure, deployment, configuration, and operational work.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to strengthen build, release, and deployment practices.
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability for applications and infrastructure.
- Apply security, scalability, availability, and reliability standards to infrastructure and delivery processes.
- Diagnose complex infrastructure, networking, deployment, and production problems and lead root-cause resolution.
- Establish backup, recovery, high-availability, and disaster-recovery capabilities.
- Track infrastructure performance, availability, capacity, and cloud resource consumption.
- Find ways to reduce cloud costs and optimize resource usage.
- Perform technical reviews and advise development teams on DevOps and cloud engineering practices.
- Keep technical documentation, operating procedures, and deployment runbooks current.
- Drive ongoing gains in platform stability, delivery speed, security, automation, and developer experience.
- Champion information security, evaluate risks and data handling, and embed data protection across the information lifecycle.
Cerințe
- At least six years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, SRE, or infrastructure engineering.
- Practical expertise with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Background designing, implementing, and supporting CI/CD pipelines for enterprise applications.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automated infrastructure provisioning.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience operating production environments and resolving complex deployment, infrastructure, and application incidents.
- Strong command of Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or comparable CI/CD tooling.
- Solid Infrastructure as Code expertise, preferably with Terraform.
- Scripting experience in Python, Bash, PowerShell, or a comparable language.
- Strong knowledge of Git and branching and release strategies.
- Experience administering and troubleshooting Linux systems.
- Strong networking knowledge, including DNS, load balancers, firewalls, SSL/TLS, and connectivity.
- Experience with application and infrastructure monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability.
- Understanding of DevSecOps, secrets management, access controls, and vulnerability management.
- Strong diagnostic, analytical, and root-cause analysis abilities.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Relevant cloud, Kubernetes, or DevOps certifications are an advantage.
