Financial Analyst – Pune, India (Hybrid) | Emerson
Support project accounting, financial close, reporting, and profitability analysis for Emerson’s automation technology and software business. This Pune-based hybrid role also contributes to audits, revenue recognition, and process improvement.
Descriere
- Oversee monthly reporting and deliver accurate financial information to internal and external stakeholders
- Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities, meet deadlines, and investigate variances
- Record revenue and cost of sales in Oracle
- Reconcile WIP, UBR, and UER control accounts between the project subledger and general ledger
- Compile Project Flash Data for WA Flash submissions
- Produce MIS reports for finance stakeholders
- Partner with Business Unit Project Controllers during month-end close and document P&L and balance-sheet variances
- Maintain documentation supporting revenue recognition and project accounting
- Perform month-end controls covering EAC movements, loss accruals, and cost corrections
- Deliver post-close financial reports for local management
- Analyze WIP, UBR/UER bridges, and project profitability
- Maintain Oracle project records, including project closure, cost and revenue reconciliations, and project-module closure
- Generate project financial, invoicing, status, and expenditure inquiry reports
- Validate project budgets and project request forms
- Check project costs and revenues for completeness and accuracy
- Compare project gross profit and order backlog against budget, explain variances, and escalate issues
- Identify and implement improvements to financial processes, efficiency, and reporting
- Provide information and assistance for internal and external audits
- Complete ad hoc assignments from the Manager or Project Controller
Cerințe
- At least 2–3 years of experience in financial planning and analysis
- Availability to work across Asia-Pacific time zones, particularly during month-end close and for specific requests
- Practical experience with ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and reporting tools
- A proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements
- Ability to balance stakeholder needs, adapt to changing situations, handle complexity, and work with ambiguity
- Creative, driven, and self-motivated approach to work
- Willingness to support colleagues during contingencies or periods of additional demand
- Strong attention to accuracy and organizational skills
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Qualified Chartered Accountant or CMA
- Foundational knowledge of accounting principles and US GAAP
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Knowledge of Oracle and Hyperion Financial Management
- Experience with Power BI or similar presentation tools
