Commercial Legal Counsel, Maternity Cover – BDO London
Provide commercial legal support to BDO, an accountancy and business advisory firm, across complex client contracts and strategic internal agreements. Negotiate technology arrangements and advise the business on practical commercial risk.
Descriere
- Support a broad range of client-facing commercial contract work
- Lead negotiations for complex master services agreements with major BDO clients, including international and technology-related provisions
- Help the business make practical commercial decisions within BDO’s risk appetite
- Support strategically important contracts for the Firm’s internal functions
- Lead client flow-down risk-management requirements in technology procurement
- Advise on commercial contracting, litigation, regulatory proceedings, mergers and acquisitions, governance, partnership matters, operations, and supplier agreements
- Work closely with senior managers, directors, and BDO partners
- Spot opportunities to improve service delivery and provide additional support
- Mentor or supervise junior legal team members and serve as an escalation point for complex contract and drafting issues
Cerințe
- Qualified to practise law in England and Wales
- Substantial post-qualification legal experience
- Background advising within a regulated industry at a respected law firm or fast-moving in-house legal team
- Experience negotiating commercial agreements, including master services agreements, framework agreements, and NDAs
- Experience drafting client-facing technology agreements, such as SaaS platform, reseller, and strategic partnership contracts
- Experience mentoring or supervising junior lawyers and serving as an escalation point for complex contracting and drafting matters
- Strong knowledge of EU and UK data protection law in a global business environment
- Experience developing or improving contract templates and legal playbooks
- Ability to work at a senior level and connect legal solutions with business strategy and objectives
- Ability to interpret applicable law and establish practical, commercially effective compliance approaches
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Desirable: experience negotiating AI provisions and advising on AI-related legal and regulatory issues
- Desirable: experience advising on outsourcing, subcontracting, cross-border service delivery models, and governance frameworks
- Desirable: experience using or deploying AI in a legal team for contract review, drafting, and negotiation
- Desirable: experience negotiating commercial agreements in a professional services setting
