Accountant (Hybrid, Malta)

Manage daily accounting, reporting, tax, payroll and audit activities for a Malta-based client of Alpha Talent Solutions. Support budgeting, cash-flow oversight and improvements to finance processes and controls.

Descriere

  • Handle daily accounting operations, including supplier invoice processing and payment preparation for approval
  • Lead month-end close activities, including journal posting and reconciliation of bank, supplier and customer accounts
  • Keep accounting systems, master data, financial records and reporting information accurate and current
  • Produce monthly management accounts, including income statements, balance sheets and other relevant reports
  • Support the preparation and filing of VAT, corporate tax and other statutory returns
  • Oversee payroll processing, including accurate and timely salary payments, statutory deductions and related obligations
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting by tracking and analysing variances
  • Monitor cash flow and support treasury and working-capital management
  • Coordinate the annual external audit by preparing records, maintaining schedules and responding to auditor requests
  • Ensure finance activities follow applicable accounting standards, tax rules and internal procedures
  • Recommend improvements to accounting processes, controls and financial procedures
  • Provide financial assistance to the Managing Director and undertake other finance-related duties as needed

Cerințe

  • Qualified Accountant or in the final stage of ACCA qualification
  • Three to five years of relevant experience in a comparable accounting role
  • Strong written and spoken English, with the ability to explain financial information clearly and professionally
  • Effective communication, problem-solving and influencing abilities
  • Meticulous attention to detail and consistently high accuracy
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented approach
  • Able to work independently with limited supervision
  • Flexible when priorities change and willing to take ownership of new responsibilities
