Wind Turbine Controls Engineer

Develop and validate wind turbine control software, hardware, and systems at GE Vernova. Support renewable energy products through testing, technical documentation, and resolution of field issues.

Apraksts

  • Develop control systems and software for wind turbines.
  • Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analyses and define requirements for turbine software features and components.
  • Write test cases and validate control software.
  • Design wind turbine control hardware, including temperature, proximity, and vibration sensors, I/O, and communications equipment.
  • Prepare engineering documents such as bills of material, drawings, specifications, and manufacturing and field instructions.
  • Travel to sites occasionally to support product testing or address customer issues.
  • Manage wind turbine controls engineering across the product lifecycle, from new technology development and design through implementation, prototype and field testing, and resolution of field issues.

Prasības

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or computer engineering from an accredited university.
  • Self-motivation, initiative, energy, a positive attitude, and flexibility in changing environments.
  • A structured approach to problem-solving and the ability to learn quickly.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical problems clearly and simply.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute to project teams in an international environment.
  • A solid grasp of programming fundamentals.
  • Experience with control systems and algorithm design, embedded software, PLC platforms and communication protocols, sensors, or signal processing, gained through coursework, internships, or other experience.
  • Experience with model-based design using MathWorks Simulink or a comparable tool.
  • Wind turbine technology experience is an advantage but is not required.
  • Experience in a related area such as power systems, multibody dynamics, data science, or systems engineering, or in software practices such as verification and validation, version control, or DevOps.
  • Interest in renewable energy or sustainability.
