  • Set technical direction for money movement, AI decisions, and the core platform.
  • Guide the evolution of ledger, decisioning, and platform systems.
  • Strengthen engineering practices through code reviews and pairing.
  • Identify the needs of processors, contractors, and program administrators.
  • Build, monitor, and improve production products across their full lifecycle.
  • Choose when document verification, eligibility checks, and fraud detection should use AI models, rules, or human review.
  • Establish ways to measure AI-driven decisions.
  • Own the ledger, lender loan tape, and reconciliation with bank records.
  • Keep financial records accurate to the cent and ready for audit.
  • Replace legacy tools such as Airtable with in-house agentic tools for operations and program configuration.
  • Improve CI speed, test suite health, backups, database migrations, alerts, and workflows.
  • Investigate production incidents, find root causes, resolve issues, and document outcomes.
  • Help guide engineering team growth and hiring.

Reikalavimai

  • At least eight years of experience building production software.
  • Experience being accountable for a system when it fails.
  • Staff-level scope or equivalent impact.
  • Experience leading the design of a system used by other engineers and remaining accountable for it in production.
  • Deep backend TypeScript experience, including Bun, Node, Next.js, tRPC, Prisma, or similar tools.
  • Strong relational database skills with MySQL or Postgres, including schema design, query plans, and migrations.
  • A track record of taking on work beyond an assigned area and completing it.
  • Strong first-principles debugging skills and the ability to trace issues from browser to database and back.
  • Strong Git skills, including rebase.
  • Ability to use AI agents extensively while authoring and taking responsibility for every line of code.
  • Ability to explain and defend pull request code, including how it was tested.
  • Comfort and competence working in compliance- and security-heavy environments.
  • Ability to learn about rebate programs, underwriting, and contractor payments.
  • Nice to have: experience with Temporal or another workflow engine.
  • Nice to have: experience with payments, ledgers, lending, or reconciliation.
  • Nice to have: experience with dbt, Snowflake, or other analytics tools.
  • Nice to have: experience evaluating LLM output using test sets and metrics.
  • Nice to have: infrastructure experience with Pulumi, Docker, Vercel, Tailscale, Datadog, or Sentry.
  • Nice to have: experience with energy programs or utility software.
  • Relevant stack includes TypeScript, Turborepo, pnpm, tsx, Bun, Next.js, React, tRPC, Prisma, MySQL, Postgres, Temporal, Python, Snowflake, dbt, Lightdash, Vercel, DigitalOcean, Pulumi, Datadog, Sentry, Claude Code, and internal agent tools.
