Senior Web Developer at Catena (Hybrid, Malta)
Build and improve websites and web applications, with a focus on security, performance, integrations, and modern development tools. The role includes AI-assisted coding and collaboration with technical and cross-functional teammates.
Aprašymas
- Create, maintain, and scale websites and web applications with strong performance.
- Develop reusable components, themes, and plugins that meet security, accessibility, and maintainability standards.
- Improve site speed and SEO, including Core Web Vitals.
- Produce clear, efficient, documented code in JavaScript, TypeScript, PHP, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Review code and help guide other developers.
- Manage source control with Git and collaborate through GitHub or similar tools and CI/CD pipelines.
- Diagnose and fix complex technical problems across environments.
- Use company-provided AI agents, including Claude and Codex, in development work.
- Keep up with web technologies and frameworks, adopting useful tools.
- Coordinate with DevOps on hosting, CDNs, and caching.
- Connect websites to third-party platforms and tools.
- Work closely with the Tech Lead, Web Dev Manager, and cross-functional colleagues.
Reikalavimai
- At least four years of frontend or full-stack web development experience.
- Experience delivering production websites or web applications, including custom themes, plugins, or components.
- Experience using REST APIs.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, PHP, and MySQL.
- Experience tuning website performance, including Core Web Vitals.
- Technical SEO knowledge is an asset.
- Knowledge of CDN and application-level caching is an asset.
- Familiarity with Cloudflare, AWS, or other hosting and infrastructure platforms.
- Strong problem-solving ability and confidence working independently.
- Experience with React, Next.js, or NestJS is an asset.
- WordPress theme and plugin experience is helpful but not required.
- Comfort using AI in everyday development workflows, including company-provided Claude and Codex agents for planning, coding, testing, reviewing, research, debugging, learning, and planning.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
