Senior Software Engineer, Institutional Settlements and Transfers
Build and scale Coinbase’s backend infrastructure for institutional settlements and transfers. Work across fiat, crypto, and internal ledger systems to deliver reliable financial services.

- Design, build, and scale backend services that process fiat, crypto, and internal ledger settlements and transfers.
- Improve code quality and maintainability through code reviews, refactoring, and participation throughout the development lifecycle.
- Enhance the performance and scalability of critical financial infrastructure while diagnosing and resolving production issues.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineering managers, and cross-functional partners to turn product direction into quarterly technical roadmaps and deliverables.
- Introduce architectural improvements that increase team velocity, reduce technical debt, and reinforce system reliability.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers in technical practices and career development, strengthening team-wide engineering standards.

- At least five years of backend software engineering experience designing, building, and maintaining production services at scale.
- Hands-on production experience with Go or a comparable backend language, relational databases such as Postgres, and message-based architectures such as Kafka.
- Ability to make system design decisions, lead technical proposals, and build alignment among engineering teams.
- Proven success diagnosing and resolving quality, performance, and scalability challenges in distributed systems.
- Experience mentoring engineers and promoting high-quality code through detailed reviews, testing, and documentation.
- Uses generative AI responsibly with human oversight to produce business-ready results and improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
