Own engineering outcomes for field operations tools, exam-room technology, waiting-room displays, and back-office systems
Manage senior Engineering Leads and individual-contributor engineers, covering hiring, performance, and career development
Assume responsibility for technical direction when the Engineering Lead role requires support
Conduct code reviews, contribute production code, and promote strong engineering practices
Advance AI-assisted and agentic development practices across teams and products
Align priorities and dependencies across at least three concurrent product areas
Participate in cross-functional architecture reviews, including ARBs and RFCs
Support the professional growth of engineers and Engineering Leads
Work with Product and Design leadership to deliver product initiatives
Lead blended onshore and offshore teams of employees and contractors
Escalate organizational, staffing, and resource requirements to engineering leadership
Travel two to four times annually

At least 10 years of software engineering experience, including two or more years leading engineers or engineering teams
Recent hands-on technical contribution within the past one to two years
Current hands-on experience developing native Android applications with Kotlin and modern Android practices
Experience with AOSP, customized Android ROMs, rooted or kiosk-mode devices, APK distribution, or Android OS upgrade programs
Background in Android device-platform development beyond conventional consumer mobile applications
Professional experience with Java alongside Kotlin
Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and React-based front-end development
Experience developing software for connected, managed, or remotely deployed devices
Experience leading engineers across multiple simultaneous products, workstreams, or technical domains
Experience hiring, managing, coaching, and developing engineers
Understanding of deployed-device limitations such as constrained resources, intermittent connectivity, remote updates, and varied hardware or OS generations
Experience operating remotely deployed device fleets, including staged releases, fleet-health monitoring, remote troubleshooting, and update or rollback planning
Experience with backend systems for device fleets, including Kotlin/JVM services, Node.js, serverless architectures, or comparable microservice environments
Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or similar products
Working knowledge of cloud services and APIs for connected-device applications
Experience managing blended teams of full-time employees and contractors
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience preferred
Completion of a coding assessment is required during the interview process
