Senior DevOps Engineer, Azure & Kubernetes — Remote Brazil

SoftDesign is seeking a senior DevOps Engineer to build Azure platforms, Kubernetes infrastructure, and CI/CD automation remotely from Brazil. The role focuses on observability, DevSecOps, and developer experience.

  • Own the architecture, evolution, and maintenance of the software delivery platform and its environments
  • Design and operate Microsoft Azure solutions spanning AKS, App Services, networking, identity, and governance
  • Build, improve, and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions
  • Establish deployment, rollback, and delivery automation approaches
  • Provision and operate infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Support containerized workloads and Kubernetes, especially across Azure and AKS environments
  • Develop and improve Backstage capabilities, including the developer portal, service catalog, and templates
  • Advance observability across logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting
  • Secure secrets and other sensitive data with Azure Key Vault
  • Embed DevSecOps practices throughout development and delivery pipelines
  • Apply access controls, pipeline security scanning, and audit processes

  • Substantial professional experience with Microsoft Azure
  • Practical experience using AKS and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of Azure App Services, networking, identity, and governance
  • Experience working with containers and orchestrated environments
  • Experience designing and structuring CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions
  • Knowledge of deployment and rollback approaches
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or Bicep
  • Experience with observability tools and practices, including Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, or Datadog
  • Knowledge of Azure Key Vault and secure credential and secrets management
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps, including pipeline security, access control, and auditing
  • Senior-level autonomy in designing and structuring platforms
  • Hands-on Backstage experience, especially with developer portals, service catalogs, and templates (preferred)
  • Previous experience building or evolving an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) (preferred)
  • Microsoft AZ-400 certification (preferred)
  • Microsoft AZ-104 certification (preferred)
  • Experience in regulated settings such as banking, fintech, insurance, or payments (preferred)
  • Experience with cloud-native architecture, microservices, and highly available environments (preferred)
  • Experience advancing Platform Engineering and Developer Experience best practices (preferred)
