Remote Mechanical Engineering Design Manager - United Kingdom
Lead multidisciplinary engineering design delivery for Turner & Townsend in a remote United Kingdom role. Develop buildable, compliant, sustainable infrastructure solutions across the project lifecycle.

- Manage contracts with external design consultants and contractors in partnership with the Project Manager
- Ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled and take appropriate action when they are not
- Lead technical assurance, assess constructability, and coordinate design interfaces
- Direct, assess, and support the design process
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams in developing project solutions
- Work with technical, operational, maintenance, strategic, and design coordination stakeholders
- Coordinate with clients, Engineering Managers, Project Managers, contractors, and consultants on project issues, scope changes, and risks
- Deliver innovative, practical, and sustainable engineering solutions that meet client, operational, and regulatory requirements
- Incorporate health, safety, and environmental considerations into engineering and design solutions
- Coordinate civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical, and electrical disciplines
- Maintain constructability, maintainability, and reliability throughout the asset lifecycle
- Lead design contributions to multidisciplinary infrastructure projects from concept development through delivery
Талаптар
- At least five years of experience managing design across the full project lifecycle
- Strong knowledge of integrated design delivery and consultant performance management
- Practical experience with Building Information Modelling (BIM) and common data environments
- A degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline, specifically Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
- Chartered Engineer status with CIBSE, IMechE, or a similar institution is preferred
- Strong practical knowledge of construction work types, methods, and design solutions
- Experience using CAD tools such as AutoCAD or Revit
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and staff
- Self-motivated, results-focused, and positive approach
- People management, time management, and project design management skills
