  • Research prospective foundation donors through databases and online sources
  • Determine donor priorities, application deadlines, and submission requirements
  • Contact assigned foundations to confirm funding opportunities, proposal requirements, and deadlines
  • Record foundation details in Salesforce and communicate relevant information to the fundraising team
  • Join planning meetings with fundraisers to shape donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans
  • Prepare applications and tailor proposals using approved resources and templates
  • Develop clear, persuasive proposals aligned with AHA strategy, funding needs, and donor objectives
  • Track donor plans and activities in Salesforce using dashboards and reports
  • Submit progress updates regularly as requested
  • Complete additional special projects as assigned
  • Manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Apply ethical standards and data privacy requirements when researching and managing donor information

  • College seniors or graduate students studying nonprofit management, health administration, nonprofit-focused communications, or public administration are encouraged to apply
  • At least one year of research or grants administration experience with a funding organization, academic institution, or relevant coursework
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to conduct detailed research on individuals, companies, and foundations
  • Strong analytical ability and comfort working with qualitative and quantitative data
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
  • Ability to work independently and professionally in a corporate setting
  • Ability to take ownership of projects from initiation through completion
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Canva
  • Dependable Wi-Fi connection
  • Availability for at least 20 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship
  • Remote work must be performed from within the United States, not another country
