Description

  • Oversee a varied caseload of workers’ compensation matters, from routine to complex
  • Assess case merits and advise clients on strategy
  • Review medical records and evidence
  • Negotiate resolutions and settlements, and litigate cases as needed
  • Develop litigation strategies for each case
  • Prepare case budgets when needed
  • Conduct discovery and related case preparation
  • Attend court hearings and other required appearances
  • Try cases while providing attentive client service
  • Draft motions, briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents
  • Prepare matters for trial
  • Work with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties to represent clients effectively

Requirements

  • Bring at least five years of experience defending workers’ compensation cases
  • Demonstrate strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Manage a full caseload of workers’ compensation matters with varying levels of complexity
  • Develop litigation plans
  • Prepare budgets when needed
  • Conduct discovery
  • Travel to court and other appearances
  • Try cases while maintaining strong client relationships
  • Draft motions, briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents
  • Prepare cases for trial
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties
  • Associate-level position
