Software Engineer I, Web Services - Cincinnati Children's (Hybrid)

Cincinnati Children's is hiring a hybrid Software Engineer I to build, test, integrate, and support web services and applications for healthcare operations. The role covers CMS, DAM, Search, and related web systems.

Description

  • Develop, test, and oversee straightforward software engineering solutions
  • Apply established engineering standards and guidance from senior team members
  • Follow information security standards and recommended practices
  • Support, improve, and maintain applications and systems
  • Learn CCHMC clinical, business, and research workflows to create suitable data solutions
  • Build and administer CMS, DAM, Search, and other web-focused platforms
  • Support end users and track Service Level Agreements for incident response
  • Partner with other teams to deliver customer-focused incident support
  • Follow established change management policies and processes
  • Provide prompt, effective follow-up to customers
  • Coordinate with vendors as needed to maintain and improve CCHMC investments
  • Escalate support concerns promptly and appropriately
  • Participate in a rotating 24-hour on-call schedule
  • Complete project assignments with attention to urgency and quality
  • Report project progress through departmental project management systems
  • Meet required time-tracking and project management procedures

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree is required
  • Professional experience is not required
  • Working knowledge of software engineering tools, programming languages, practices, and architectures, including SDLC, design patterns, and source code management
  • Ability to work remotely and onsite when business needs require
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, data management, information systems, information science, or a related quantitative discipline
  • Preferred: Experience with modern web technologies such as React, SharePoint, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and Tailwind
  • Preferred: Experience with and interest in CMS, DAM, Search, and other web-focused technologies
