Software Developer, 1-Year Contract (Hybrid, Kitchener)

Develop and maintain Java-based scanning and image-processing products for Ricoh. Work with global engineering teams to deliver scalable solutions for customers across the Americas.

Description

  • Independently assess business requirements and third-party libraries to recommend suitable technical approaches.
  • Create functional specifications and detailed technical designs.
  • Build dependable, scalable, high-performance applications.
  • Write test cases and conduct unit testing.
  • Maintain and provide support for client solutions.
  • Contribute to database design and development.
  • Design, implement, and tailor scan-based products.
  • Work with global development teams to support delivery and implementation across the Americas market.

Requirements

  • A university degree or college diploma in Computer Science or a comparable discipline is preferred.
  • Professional experience developing with Java.
  • Experience with networking protocols including HTTP, XML, JSON, SOAP, and REST.
  • Linux or UNIX experience is considered an asset.
  • Experience with C++ or C# is considered an asset.
  • At least two years of relevant software development experience.
  • Strong communication and collaborative teamwork abilities.
